Cowperthwaite Shuts Down Messo

Bangor senior pitcher Nick Cowperthwaite needed only 72 pitches over seven innings to shut down the Messalonskee Eagles 6-0 Friday afternoon at Mansfield Stadium.

Cowperthwaite picked up his second win of the year, giving up just three hits, striking out six and no walks.

Meanwhile, his teammates put up six runs through the first three innings.

Gary Farnham drove in two runs. Zach Cowperthwaite and Zac Ireland each had two hits.

The Rams improve to 6-0. Messalonskee drops to 2-4.
