The Old Town softball team scored 2 unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning, then rode the pitching of Rachel Martin on their way to a 2-1 win over Hermon.The win capped an undefeated regular season for the Coyotes who will enter the playoffs as the number two seed with a 16-0 record. Gardiner will be the top seed, the Tigers are also undefeated after beating Nokomis on Monday.

After the Hawks scored an unearned run in the top of the first inning Martin settled in to allow just 3 hits while striking out 11 and walking just 1. Martin scored what turned out to be the winning run as she crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first.

The playoffs get underway with the prelims on Tuesday, followed by the quarterfinals on Thursday the 12th.
