Bangor golfer Staci Creech will play in the national field for the USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Championship for a second straight year.

The three-time Maine Women's Amateur champ had the third best score (+5, 77) at the regional qualifier in Canton, Massachusetts today. The top six players advance to the national tournament. Hilary Hall from Dublin, Ireland had the top score at +3 (75).

The USGA Mid-Amateur is for amateur players 25-years-old and up. Only 132 players are in the field when the tourney begins in Naples, Florida in October.

The national championship begins with two rounds of stroke play and then the top 64 scorers begin match play competition. Creech just missed making it to the match play segment in last year's tourney in Pennsylvania.
