The Celtics get a post Christmas win in Detroit while the Bruins have a post Christmas collapse on home ice.

First the Celts story. A 99-93 win over the Pistons for their third consecutive win. A typical offensive attack for the C's with six players in double figures, Avery Bradley with 18 to lead. It was a Jonas Jerebko baseline jumper with just second left that won it for the Celtics.

The C's return to Boston for a matchup with the New York Knicks tonight.

Meanwhile, the Boston Bruins had a 2-1 over Buffalo in the third period, only to watch the Sabres score five unanswered goals. Two were empty netters at the end.

Former Boston University star Jack Eichel, the #2 NHL draft pick, scored two goals and two assists in his first game as a pro at Boston Garden.

The B's get right back on the ice tonight at Ottawa.
