Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas is officially out for tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs. The groin strain injury is improving but he's not ready to play yet.

So says coach Brad Stevens who says IT will not play at San Antonio tonight.

Thomas has not played in the last three games and the C's are 1-2.

He has the second highest scoring average in the Eastern Conference and the team seems to really miss him trying to close out games.

The hope is Thomas could play Friday night vs Charlotte at Boston Garden.

NOTE:  You can hear the Celtics play the Spurs tonight at 9pm on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket following coverage of Orono vs Hermon boys basketball game at 7pm.
