Here are our nominees (in alphabetical order) for the McDoanld's High School Athlete of the Week.

Lydia DaCorte: MDI Swimming – DaCorte was a big reason why the Trojans took home the PVC Championship on Saturday. She took first place in both the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly as an individual. Then swam on the first medley relay and the anchor on the 200 freestyle relay.

Aspen Flewelling: Houlton Basketball – The sophomore helped the Shires lock up the number one spot in Class B with three wins last week. Flewelling scored 48 points in those games which included a 23-point performance against Presque Isle that clinched the number 1 seed.

Nick Gilpin: Hampden Basketball – Gilpin and the Broncos caped off a perfect 18-0 regular season by winning their final two games. Against Nokomis he poured in a game high 17 points including the 1,000 point of his career. In the regular season finale against Brewer he had 20 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
