The Calais Blue Devils' speed gave No. 2 George Stevens trouble at times, but when the buzzer sounded, the Eagles became the final team to advance to the Class C North semifinals.

Senior Morgan Dauk delivered an impressive performance, finishing with 31 points in the 49-40 win at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor Wednesday morning.

Besides scoring, Dauk did everything from rebounding to defending to handling the ball in the win, which puts the Eagles (17-2) in a semifinal match-up against the Piscataquis Pirates.

No. 7 Calais did keep it close, tying the game twice late with points off turnovers caused by their pressing defense.

But the size of George Stevens was too much for the smaller but quicker Blue Devils.

Freshman Lauran Cook had 13 points for Calais, which finishes the season at 13-6.
