(2-0) Bronco-Hermon (Maine) 3 def. U.S. West (Hawaii) 2 (1-1)

It was another nail-bitter for the hosts, who turned a bases loaded double play in the seventh inning to defeat Hawaii, 3-2, booking a spot in Thursday's semi-final round.

Trailing 2-0 in the fourth inning, Hawaii rallied for a pair of runs to even the score, but Bronco-Hermon was able to retake the narrow lead when game one's hero, Alex Applebee, scored on a throwing error with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.

Casey Sudbeck silenced the U.S. West representatives for much of the game, tossing 6.1 innings on the hill, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out four. Applebee then came in to earn the save on the victory, inducing the game ending double play, which short stop, Zach Nash, turned unassisted.

Cleanup hitter, Alex McKenney, was credited with the only RBI by the host team, as Maine's first and third runs both were scored on two-out errors committed by Hawaii.

Bronco-Hermon now gets a rest day Wednesday before facing either Australia or Latin America in the semi-finals on Thursday.

Hawaii will have to attempt a bounce back tomorrow night, when they take on U.S. Southeast (Virginia) Wednesday night at 8 p.m. Coverage of that game, and both semi-final match-ups on Thursday, can be heard live on 92.9 The Ticket.

(2-1) U.S, Southeast (Virginia)  4-1 Canada  (1-2)

The team from Dumfries, Virginia, representing the U.S. Southeast region, moved on to the next round of the tournament after winning 4-1 over Canada on Tuesday morning.  Virginia jumped out early with two runs in the bottom of the first inning and tacked on a third run in the fourth.  The side from Saskatchewan would surrender another run in the sixth before breaking the scoring drought in the seventh.  The Canadian champs were unable to push across anymore runs and lost by that 4-1 score.  With the win, Virginia moves to a game against the loser of Bronco-Hermon/Hawaii on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m.  Canada is eliminated for championship contention and will play New Jersey in a consolation game at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
