Molly Flowers started the game for Maine in the circle and went 5.2 innings, allowing three runs.  Flowers struggled out of the gate hitting two batters and walking three others to give Albany the 2-0 lead after the first inning of play. The Black Bears would later tie the game in the fourth off of some timely hitting by Alyssa Derrick and Kristin Nyland, who each had RBI base hits. Maddie Decker would then pinch-hit later on in the inning with two runners on and hit a three run blast.
The Black Bears would push home two insurance runs in the fifth on the triple by Felicia Lennon.  Flowers ran into some trouble again later in the sixth inning as the loaded the base up and allowed a run to cross, making the score 7-3 at the time.  Erin Bogadanovich came on in relief and retired the lone batter she faced in the sixth, and later closed out the seventh to secure the Black Bear win, allowing just a run.

The seconded seeded Black Bears will now face Binghamton tomorrow in the next round.  Maine beat the Bearcats in two out of three contests during the regular season.
