The Deering HS Rams didn't close close to scoring their average of 82 points per game but they scored enough to beat Bangor 66-60 Saturday afternoon.

The win makes Deering 5-0 while Bangor falls to 1-4.

Deering could never shake the Rams. In fact, Bangor had a 15-9 after one quarter and had a couple of leads in the second half.

But Deering got Bangor in foul trouble and then hit 10 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter. 19 of Deering's 66 points came from the line.

Each team forced the other to close to 20 turnovers.

Max Chabot with 13 and Ben Williams with 12 led Deering.

Bangor was led by Justin Smith's 16 and Ethan Dorman's 13.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Deering HS girls beat Bangor 46-41 in another game that came down to foul shots at the end.

Deering's Delaney Haines scored 13 points to lead the Rams. Deering is now 4-1.

Bangor's Katie Butler had 12 for the 1-4 Rams.
