The defending Senior League World Series Champions from Texas used three rallies to beat the U.S. West representatives from Nogales, Arizona, 5-4 in 12 innnigs. 

John Doxakis started the game for Texas, tossing three innings and allowing three runs while striking out six. Doxakis also led both teams in hits, going 4-6 at the plate. Jimmy Winston earned the win for the defending champs, tossing the final four innings. Texas managed to escape with the dramatic win despite leaving 21 men on base.

Arizona was led by Alec Acevado who went 3-for-5 with two doubles and 2 RBI. The loss went to Paulo Rodriguez, who allowed the eventual winning run to score in the top of the 12th inning.

Texas will next play Monday (8/3) at 10 a.m. vs. U.S. Southeast (Virginia). Arizona falls into the losers bracket and will play the loser of U.S. East (Pennsylvania) and Latin America (Curacao), Monday (8/3) at 5 p.m.
