One day after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was hit 23 times in a loss to the Denver Broncos, multiple reports indicate the team has fired line coach Dave DeGuglielmo.DeGuglielmo has held the position for just two years after taking over for Dante Scarnecchia who was considered one of the best line coaches in the league before retiring. Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network was the first to report the move which has not been officially announced by the team.

The Patriots line surrendered just 21 sacks a year ago but that number increased to 38 this season. a year in which Brady always seemed to be on the run.

DeGuglielmo was at a disadvantage at times this season as injuries forced him to shuffle his players into different positions from one week to the next.
