It’s time for you to help us decide who should be the winner of this week’s High School Athlete of the Week.  This time we have three great performers on across the fall sports landscape.

Kelly Delaney, a senior captain for the Calais High School volleyball team, helped led the Blue Devils to a Class B State Championship over the weekend.  Delaney had a perfect 13 for 13 serving performance in the championship with five aces.  She also had 18 kills and three digs in the 3-0 win over Washington Academy.  Calais went 13-1 during the regular season and earned the top overall seed in the class.  Delaney was also named a nominee for the Volleyball Gatorade Player of the Year.

Senior cross country runner Kassidy Dill of Orono High School won the Class C Girls' North Regional on Saturday with a time of 19:40.14, besting the next runner by over 26 seconds.  Dill helped her team to a second place finish in the event and qualified the Red Riots to the state competition this weekend.  She is looking to improve on her third place finish in the state meet from a year ago.

John Bapst senior Alvaro Valls scored an overtime winner against Waterville in the quarterfinal last week to advance the Crusaders to the next round.  Valls has 24 goals on the season so far and was named the Boys' PVC Player of the Year.  The top seeded Crusaders in Class B North will face Presque Isle on Monday afternoon to try and advance to the regional finals.

The decision is up to you to choose who you think is the High School Athlete of the Week between these three great performers!
