Ryan Dempster had another great spring training outing on Thursday as the Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 7-3. And, the Sox take a 3-1 lead for the Mayor's cup.

Dempster pitched four innings allowing just one run, three hits, a couple of walks and three strikeouts. His springtime ERA is now 2.13.

Will Middlebrooks drove in three runs with a double. Jacoby Ellsbury and Mike Napoli each drove in a run.

In the battle for bragging rights of Ft Myers (Mayor's Cup) the Sox now have won three of the first four games. The Sox and Twins play each other four more times.

SOX NOTE: Remember minor league outfielder Bryce Brentz - the guy who accidentally shot himself in the leg while cleaning his gun back in January - well, he's been cleared to play down in Florida and will start playing for the Pawtucket spring team.
