Shortstop Deven Marrero is the latest Portland Seadog to win Eastern League player of the week honors. He joins Mookie Betts, Henry Owens, Brian Johnson and Mike McCarthy in winning either player or pitcher weekly awards.

Marrero hit .650 in six games last week. He had a homer, a triple, four RBI ans scored six runs.

Marrrero was a 1st round draft pick in 2012 (24th overall) and is hitting .292 on the season. His .975% fielding is tops among shortstops in the Eastern League.
