The Boston Red Sox second ranked prospect in the minor league system will be assigned to start the year with the Portland Sea Dogs.

The Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox announced its roster on Tuesday morning and it included the highly regarded third baseman.  Devers is second only in the organization to Andrew Benintendi in the prospect ratings according to Baseball America.  He hit .282 with 11 home runs and 78 RBIs in 128 games last season between Greenville and Salem at the Class A level.

Other than Devers, infielder Nick Longhi, and pitchers Trey Ball, Jake Cosart, Luis Ysla, and Jamie Callahan will be in Portland to start the season and are ranked in the top 30 prospects in the organization.

The Sea Dogs will open up the season on Thursday, April 6th at Hadlock Field with a first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
