The Dexter Tigers defeated the Calais Blue Devils Friday afternoon to advance to the north regional final.

Both teams struggled offensively in the contest, but the No. 2 Tigers had enough firepower to come away with the 36-15 win earn a trip back to Championship Saturday.

Freshman Peyton Grant led the Tigers with 16 points. Another freshman, Avery Herrick, had 14 points in the win.

It was a frustrating night for the No. 6 Blue Devils, who had advanced to the semifinal with two upsets wins earlier in the week. The Dexter defense stymied Calais all afternoon, limiting the run-and-gun Blue Devils' offense to one shot on most possessions.

Lauran Clark and Olivia Huckins each had five points for Calais in the loss.

It's the third time in four years the Tigers (17-3) have advanced to the regional final.

Calais finishes the season at 15-6.

Up next: The Tigers will play at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
