The No. 2 Dexter Tigers held off a late charge from the No. 7 Stearns Minutemen at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor to advance to the Class C North semifinals.

The Tigers came away with a 39-32 win, but it wasn't easy.

The Minutemen cut the lead to four points with some timely 3-pointers in the final minute, but Dexter was able to control the ball with time running our to keep the game out of reach.

Dexter was led by junior center Megan Peach with 17 points. Katherine Batron scored 8 points and Abigail Webber added 7 points for the Tigers.

Stearns was led by Mackenzie Carter with 9 points.

Dexter improves to 15-4 and earns a spot in the semifinals against the No. 3 Narraguagus Knights.

Stearns finishes the season with a 12-7 record.
