Red Sox fans will never forget the steal...Game 4 ALCS versus the Yankees. Dave Roberts stole second base off Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada. That same Dave Roberts will be the new manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The team says its official and that a press conference will be held after the Thanksgiving Day weekend.

At 43-years-old, Roberts is the youngest Dodgers manager since Walter Alston in 1954 at the age of 42.

Roberts has never managed at any level. He spent time as a bench coach for the San Diego Padres.

He was seen as a longshot to get the LA job but apparently dazzled the front office during the interview process.

Roberts replaces Don Mattingly in the Dodger dugout.

NOTE: By the way, Sox fans may remember that after the Roberts stolen base in ALCS game #4, he was driven in by BIll Mueller. It was the start of the four game comeback against the Yanks and the Sox went on to win their first World Series in 86 years.
