What a night at Boston Garden! The long awaited retirement ceremony for Rick Middleton and his #16 before the game and then a shootout goal by young Ryan Donato to beat the New York Islanders 2-1.

Middleton's nickname was 'Nifty' because he was very nifty at scoring goals. And, that's just what Donato did in the fourth round of the shootout to give Boston the win.

The young Donato just returned from the minor leagues. The B's sent him down to work on his defense.

Oh yeah, there's also the fact that Rick Middleton was the favorite player of his father, Ted, the former Bruins player and now Harvard coach.
