The University of Maine baseball team split their weekend ending double Header with UMass Lowell while Husson did the same with Castleton State.The Bears won the first game 5-4 as Brian Doran had 2 hits including a homerun and 2 rbi. Sam Balzano drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 6th inning.

Game two went to the River Hawks who piled up 15 hits against Black Bear pitching on their way to a 10-8 win. UMaine pitchers allowed 7 extra base hits and the defense committed 2 errors.

The Bears drop to 2-6 in the America East and 11-19 overall. Next week they host UMaine Presque Isle on Tuesday before swinging back to conference play with a weekend series against Hartford.

Husson University split their double header with Castleton State winning 12-0 in the first game before losing 3-0 in the series finale.

Ryan Rebar and Seth Freudenberger eans had 2 hits and 2 rbi in the Eagles win while J.T. Whitten drove in 3 runs.

Ben Walls pitched the complete game 6-hitter and struck out 5 to get his third win of the season.

Husson managed just 4 hits in the second game loss and fall to 13-3 in the North Atlantic Conference, 17-11 overall. Next up is a double header against Bowdoin on Tuesday at the Winkin Complex.
