Doubront Wins, Backed By Long Ball

The Red Sox took their series with Giants getting a 12-1 win thanks to solid pitching from Felix Doubront and the  homerun ball.Will Middlebrooks hit a 2-run homer and Stephen Drew a 3-run shot as part of Boston's 12-hit attack. Shane Victorino and Jacoby Ellsbury each had three hits. The Sox piled up those 12 runs despite leaving 16 men on base.

Felix Doubront won his 9th game of the season after going the first 8 innings, allowing only 5 hits and walking just one. Koji Uehara pitched a perfect 9th to end the game.

Boston will take Thursday off before starting a weekend series against the Dodgers in LA. you can hear the game Saturday at 4pm and Sunday night at 8 on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
