The Red Sox and Indians observed a moment of silence before last night's game to honor the people affected by Monday's marathon explosions. The Sox then went out and beat Cleveland 7-2.

The Sox scored seven times in the 2nd inning and gave lefty pitcher Felix Doubront a big cushion to work with. Turns out Doubront needed it because he struggled for five innings, throwing 104 pitches but giving up just 2 runs.

The Red Sox have won four in a row. Their record is 9-4, tops in the AL East.

Sox Notes...16 Red Sox batters struck out but 9 batters also received walks...closer Joel Hanrahan was placed on the 15-day DL and knuckleballer Steven Wright was recalled from Pawtucket...Alfredo Aceves starts in place of the injured John Lackey Wednesday night - hang on Sox nation!
