The driver in a crash early New Year's morning that killed the vehicle's passenger has been arrested. Police are asking for the public's help with information about the accident.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on New Year's Day when 37-year-old Elizabeth Horlieca and 42-year-old Shawn Macnevin, both of Hudson, were on the Finson Road in Bangor. Their car left the roadway and struck a tree. Horlieca died at the scene.

Macnevin was arrested on Wednesday and charged with felony Operating Under the Influence. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail where he's being held. According to the BDN, the Speedway 95 race car driver has a history of OUI arrests, most dating back to the 1990's.

The investigation continues. Police ask that anyone with information they believe could be pertinent or helpful is asked to call Detective Tim Shaw or Detective Joshua Kuhn by leaving a message for them at 947-7384, Extension 95745.
