Former UMaine goalie Mike Dunham will be within the Boston Bruins organization under a Head Coach that has a Black Bear connection.

The Bruins announced on Monday morning that they had hired Jay Leach as the Head Coach of the Providence Bruins for the upcoming 2017-18 season at the AHL level.  In addition to Leach, Spencer Carbery was named the Assistant Coach and Dunham the Goaltender Development Coach.

Leach is the nephew of former UMaine Associate Coach Jay Leach who recently resigned from his position with the Black Bears.  Dunham played for UMaine from 1990-93, and just finished up his ninth seasons with the New York Islanders, beginning the 2007-08 season.  He also played for five different NHL teams during his pro career.
