The Husson University football team is in New York this afternoon looking for its first win of the season as they play a non-conference game against Alfred State. The Eagles are familiar with their opponent as they meet for the third straight year and fourth in program history. Husson won last years game 34-28 in overtime with quarterback Joe Seccareccia scoring the game winning touchdown on a 2-yard run.

Both teams enter today's game looking for their first win after dropping their respective openers.

Husson will need to defend the Pioneers passing game that threw for nearly 300 yards a week ago in a loss to William Patterson. Gabby Price's defense has traditionally been strong against the run which is not considered a strength of the Pioneers after losing their all-time leading rusher to graduation. Last week they managed just 33 yards on the ground.

The Husson offense had success passing the ball in their opener despite adding several first year starters to their starting lineup. Sophomore running back John Smith will try to get his game going after being held to just 84 yards last week. That ended his streak of 8 consecutive games with at least 100 yards rushing.

Today's kickoff form Pioneer Stadium is set for 1pm.
