Husson University football sweeps the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) weekly awards with Solomon Hassen, Derek Barden and Quan Soyini picking up the honors.

The Eagles pounded Castleton 48-0 Saturday to get to the brink of another ECFC title with a 5-0 record (6-2 overall).

Hassen, a freshman RB, ran for four TDs and 152 yards to win Offensive Player of the Week.

Barden, a sophomore DL, led the Eagles with 10 tackles and had two sacks. He also forced a fumble as the Husson defense gave up just 131 total yards. He wins Defensive Player of the Week.

Soyini, a senior DB, wins Special Teams Player of the Week for a 68-yard punt return. In fact, he set a school record with 147 yards worth of punt returns. Soyini recovered his own force fumble.

NOTE: The Eagles play their final ECFC conference game this Saturday when they host Gallaudet University (Washington D.C.). Husson moves to the Commonwealth Coast Conference next year. A win Saturday gives the Eagles the conference championship and an automatic bid to the NCAAs. Live coverage of the game starts at noon on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
