Eagles Take Out Spartans For Championship

For the third time in six years Husson University is North Atlantic Conference champs after beating Castleton St. 4-2.Coach Jason Harvey's Eagles went a perfect 3-0 on their way to the championship. Down by a run in the bottom of the 5th inning, Husson plated three runs thanks to rbi hits by Dylan Foster and Shawn Smith. Pat McEwen pitched the first seven innings to get the win while tourney MVP Brandon Reilly closed the game for the save. Reilly was the winning pitcher in game one of the tourney.

The Eagles will now have to wait and see if they get an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the conference will not get an automatic qualifier until next season.

Husson's Dylan Foster and Josh Gaudette were also named to the all-tourney team.
