ECFC Poll: Husson Picked #1

Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) coaches have picked the Husson Eagles to win the league championship in the annual preseason poll.

Husson received six of the seven first place votes for the top spot.

Coach Gabby Price and his Eagles are the two-time defending champs and completed the program's best season a year ago (10-2). This season will be the final year for Husson in the ECFC before moving to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).

While record breaking tailback John Smith has graduated, the Eagles return All-Conference QB Cory Brandon. Among the other players back are first team linebacker Elvin Suazo Jr and defensive back and return specialist Quan Soyini.

The Eagles finish training camp on Saturday and preparation begins for the season opener, a non-conference game at Union College (NY) on September 1st.

The ECFC opener is September 29th at SUNY-Maritime. The Privateers are picked as the #2 team in the preseason poll.
