The Eagles proved more powerful than the Hawks on Saturday, September 27th, as the Ellsworth Eagles shut out the Hermon Hawks 2-0 in a game played at Del Luce Stadium in Ellsworth on an afternoon that felt more like summer than fall.

Ellsworth scored at the 20:48 mark in the 1st Half when Jack Weeks scored off a pass from Anthony Gardner.

Ellsworth scored an insurance goal at the 6:46 mark in the second half when Anthony Gardner scored, with an assist from Jeff Weeks.

Bruce St. Peter was in goal for Ellsworth in the first half and recorded 2 saves and Hunter Clukey played the whole game in goal for Hermon with a total of 11 saves.  Nick Bagley was in goal for Ellsworth in the second half with 2 saves.

Ellsworth is now 7-0 on the season, and are the lone Class B Eastern Maine team without a loss or tie.  Ellsworth was scheduled to host  MDI  at Del Luce Stadium on Tuesday September 30th  but that game has been rescheduled for the following Monday, October 6th, to allow the new bleachers to be installed.

Hermon is now 2-5 and will play at John Bapst on Tuesday September 30th at 4 PM.
