The Ellsworth Eagles are moving on as they beat the Old Town Coyotes 48-39. Ellsworth is heading back to the Bangor Auditorium for the first time since 2004. Maddie Carr lead the way for Ellsworth scoring 22 points on the night.

It was a slow start as neither team could muster much offense. The phsyical play of the Eagles held Old Town to just three points after the first quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the roles were reversed as as the Coyotes outscored the Eagles 13-9 and clawed their way back into the game as Ellsworth had just a four point margin at the break.

After a series of lead changes in the third and fourth quarter, Maddie Carr caught fire and knocked down some big shots. The Eagles caused some late turnovers and then hit their free throws to put the game out of reach.

The freshman, Maddie Carr, and Ellsworth look forward to Saturday's game where they will face the number one seed and undefeated Presque Isle Wildcats at 3:05pm
