Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts came up short in his bid to win a Gold Glove Award. The award went to Royals SS Alcides Escobar.

Bogaerts was the only Sox player in the list of finalists for Gold Gloves.

Keep in mind managers and coaches are the voters for Gold Gloves Awards and they can't vote for their own players.

Here's a look at some of the key comparisons of the stats between Bogaerts and Escobar...

Esocbar:   13 errors, 647 chances, .980 fieldings %

Bogaerts:  11 errors, 676 chances, .984 fielding %

No that hitting is (but often times is) considered...

Escobar:     .257BA   3 HR   47 RBI

Bogaerts:    .318BA   7HR    81 RBI
