The University of Maine School of Performing Arts Theatre/Dance Division will present “Spring Awakening” a powerful Broadway smash-hit rock musical about teenagers exploring their sexuality. This Tony Award-winning show, with music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, is based on a controversial German play, “Spring Awakening” (1891) by Frank Wedekind.
The combination of the historical German play with the high-energy rock music, and edgy choreography will stun audiences with its boldness and elegance.
