For seven seasons, Shawn Thornton was the Boston Bruins enforcer. When a game called for tough man duties, Thornton was it. Tonight he returns to the Garden - in a Florida Panthers uniform.

The Bruins parted ways with Thornton in the off season. The B's had salary cap issues,  wanted to get younger and perhaps get a little more offense from the fourth line.

Thornton was quickly signed by Florida. They wanted exactly what he gave the Bruins locker room. The 37-year-old veteran has no points and seven penalty minutes in seven games but the club is more than happy to have his presence.

The Panthers come to Boston with a 4-2-3 record. The Bruins are 7-6.
