Terry Francona - not John Farrell wins the AL Manager of the Year Award. Francona led the Cleveland Indians to 92 wins in his first year. He received 16 first place votes (112 points), Farrell received 12 (96 points).

Farrell led the Red Sox to 97 wins in the regular season and then to a world series title. Remember, the manager of the year award is only for regular season play. The third finalist for the award was Oakland's Bob Melvin.
