Boston Bruins players cleaned out lockers. B's management held court with the press. It was break-up day at the Garden - guys like Andrew Ference already know they will not return.

Ference is a free agent and the B's will go young on defense with Krug, Hamilton and Bartkowski instead of signing Ference to a more expensive deal.

Jaromir Jagr is also a free agent. He will not return and that is no surprise.

Nathan Horton is free to go too. GM Peter Chiarellli said today he wants Horton back but it comes down to money. By the way, Horton may need shoulder surgery.

Speaking of injuries, Patrice Bergeron is still in a hospital, checking in after game-6. Along with all the injuries he played with, apparently he suffered a small puncture of his lung at some point.

And, while Zdeno Chara would not talk about it, Chiarelli said his big defenseman was playing with a painful hip flexor.

What a break-up day at the Garden!
