The Husson Eagles racked up 612 yards of offense and 47 points on the blue turf of the University of New England. They hand the Nor'easters a 47-7 loss in their first ever varsity home game Biddeford.

The victory over the Nor'Easters puts the Eagles at 1-1 while UNE drops to 0-2.

Husson rushed the ball 50 times for 383 yards. Freshman Solomon Hassen led the way with 245 yards on 28 carries. He scored two TDs.

Meanwhle, the Eagles defense held the Nor'easters to minus 21 yards running the ball.

Corey Brandon was 17-for-25 passing, good for 223 yards. He threw three TDs but also threw three interceptions.

UNE's quarterback, Brian Peters, went 26-for-41 and 268 yards. He had a TD pass but got picked off four times.

2,042 fans turned out in Biddeford for the historic game for the Nor'easters.

The Eagles play their 2018 home opener next Saturday vs Western New England at 1pm at the Winkin Complex.

NOTE: Husson and UNE will be playing once a year from now on. Both are moving into the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) beginning next season.
