Who will win the Fitzy? Donald Goodrich? Alex Shain? Chandler Shostak? The 42nd annual Fitzpatrick Trophy will be handed out Sunday in Portland…

The Fitzy Award is the “Heisman” for high school football in Maine. A selection committee picked a list of 11 semi-finalists back in November, then the list of three finalists last month. Sunday one player wins the Fitzy.

Goodrich (Cheverus HS) rushed for over 1,700 yards and 24 touchdowns. Shain (Sanford HS) ran for 1,400 yards and 28 TDs. Shostak (Cony HS) played wide receiver and caught 56 passes for 853 yards and 12 TDs. All three players also played on the defensive side of the ball.

The 2012 Fitzpatrick Trophy winner was Leavitt HS quarterback Jordan Hersom.
