The Bangor baseball team took advantage of Messalonskee miscues to put together a 5-run 5th inning that lead to a 6-3 win and the Eastern Maine class A championship.The Rams led one nothing after getting an unearned run in the third inning, and added to it in the 5th as they put together six hits and five runs, all but two were unearned thanks to the Eagles two errors. Messalonskee finished with four errors in the game.

Justin Courtney got the win on the mound after pitching 6.1 innings where he allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out 4.

The regional title is the first for the Rams since 2007. Next up is a date with Western Maine champ Windham who as the #11 seed beat Marshwood 2-0 in 9 innings. Game time is 1pm Saturday at St. Joe's College in Standish. You can hear the game live on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
