Five Teams Compete For Title

Following a lightning fast regular season the Zone 1 American Legion tournament begins tonight with defending champion Brewer trying to retain its crown.The tourney starts with a play-in game between Penquis and Motor City tonight with the winner advancing to join Bangor, Brewer and Trenton in the double elimination format. The Bangor Comrades enter the tourney as the number one seed by virtue of their 16-2 record.All games will be played at the Winkin Complex at Husson University.

Below is the schedule for the first two days of play.

• Tuesday July 22

Penquis vs. Motor City  -  7pm

• Wednesday July 23

Brewer vs. Trenton  -  4pm

Bangor vs. Penquis/Motor City  -  7pm

The zone champion and runner-up will both advance to the state tournament which will be held at the Winkin Complex in Bangor beginning next Wednesday.
