Former Black Bear Coach Keeling Passes Away At 64
The University of Maine has announced that former men’s basketball coach Rudy Keeling has passed away at the age of 64.Keeling who led the Black Bears from 1988-96 died at his home in Londonderry New Hampshire after a brief illness.
While at UMaine Keeling posted a record of 104-124, received an America East Coach of the Year honor, and led the 1993-94 team to a school record 20 wins. He left the Bears to become head coach at Northeastern where he stayed for five years. He then became Athletic Director at Emerson College before taking over as Commissioner of the ECAC, a job he held until last January.
Keeling is survived by his wife and four children.
