Former University of Maine defender Ben Hutton made some news in the National Hockey League on Thursday night as he punched home the game winner against Arizona.

Hutton notched the game winning shootout goal against the Coyotes to give the Canucks the victory.  It was just the seventh win of the season for Vancouver and put the Canucks up to 7-10-1 for the year.

Hutton has played in all 18 games with Vancouver this season and has two goals and an assist for the team.  For his career since leaving Maine, Hutton has 28 total points and represented Canada in the IIHF this past summer.
