Former Black Bear Owens Now a Lion

  Former UMaine running back Montell Owens who was cut last month by Jacksonville has signed a free agent contract with Detroit.Owens spent his first six seasons in the league with the Jaguars after signing as an undrafted free agent following his Maine career. He was selected to the 2010 and 2011 Pro Bowls as a special teams player.

Former UMaine coach John Bonamego was the special teams coach in Jacksonville and has just been hired by the Lions re-uniting the two Black Bears.
