Former UMaine Black Bear and veteran NHLer Teddy Purcell is in Boston Bruins training camp on a 'professional tryout' (PTO) and hoping to rekindle his hockey career.

Purcell is now 32-years-old and played in 12 games for the LA Kings last season. The rest of the year was spent in the AHL. He has played in 600 games over eight years in the NHL with four different teams.

Is there room for a veteran player on this young Bruins team? Is he in camp just to push those youngsters?

Over the first couple of days of B's camp Purcell was playing on a line with Matt Beleskey and Ryan Spooner.

Purcell played one year at UMaine (2006-07) and had 43 points in 40 games. He turned pro after that one year.

NOTE: The Bruins play their first preseason game tonight against Montreal. The first cuts on the roster will likely come Wednesday or Thursday.
