Former Mt. Ararat HS standout pitcher Mark Rogers is out of a job baseball again. The Seattle Mariners have released him from their triple-A Tacoma team after just two appearances.

Rogers was the 5th overall pick in the MLB draft back in 2004 out of high school by the Milwaukee Brewers. He was beset with arm issues but got his chance in 2012 when he joined the Brewers rotation and made seven starts, going 3-1.

But when Rogers returned for the spring on 2013 he had more arm issues and was released.

In January, he signed with the Mariners and was invited to big league camp, quickly was sent to their minor league camp and after giving up two runs and walking three in two innings against Laas Vegas Sunday, the Mariners released him.
