When the Notre Dame Fighting Irish play Syracuse in huge Big East conference basketball game Monday at 7 p.m, former Dirigo High star Thomas Knight is expected to be in the the Irish starting lineup.

Why wouldn't he be? Knight became a starter three games ago and Notre Dame has won all three games.

The last one came in overtime Saturday afternoon at DePaul, 79-71. Knight scored 6 points and hauled down 7 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. The win puts the Irish record at 18-4 (6-3 in Big East).

Coach Mike Brey changed up things after his team lost three of four games. One of those changes was adding Knight to the starting lineup.

The 6-foot, 9-inch Knight played for Dirigo High School in Dixfield. He scored over 1,300 points in three seasons of Maine high school basketball.
