Former UM Star Plays For AHL Title

The Detroit Red Wings got bounced from the NHL playoffs so they have "loaned" former UM star Gustav Nyquist to their AHL team in Grand Rapids for the Calder Cup Finals.

Nyquist played 22 regular season game with the Red Wings and 14 playoff games. He had 5 points in the post season.

The AHL team, the Grand Rapids Griffins hold a 2-0 lead in the series against Syracuse with game three set for Wednesday night.

The Calder Cup is the AHL version of the Stanley Cup.
