Shortstop Mike Fransoso had a brilliant career for the UMaine Black Bears. This week he begins play as a Jamestown Jammer, the NY-Penn League team of the Pittsburgh Pirates.


Fransoso was drafted in the 27th round by Pittsburgh earlier in the month. He signed his pro contract and reported to the Jamestown team this week. In three games so far the former Black Bear is 1 for 10 at the plate and has one RBI.



The Lowell Spinners is the Boston Red Sox minor league team in this NY-Penn League.
