The USA women's soccer team punched its ticket to next year's World Cup, winning the CONCACAF Championship 6-0 over Costa Rica. Abby Wambach scored four goals.

The U.S., Costa Rica and Mexico will be the three qualifiers to go to Canada next summer for the Women's World Cup.

Former UMaine Fort Kent goalie Kimika Thorpe and her Trinidad & Tobago team came up short, losing to Mexico 4-2 in extra time.

There is one more chance for the Trinidad & Tobago team to qualify. T&T must win a home-and-home series with Ecuador in November.
