Red Sox fans remember Yankees third baseman Scott Brosius very well. Now the former Yank has led LInfield College from Oregon to a national title, beating USM 4-1 in the CWS national championship game.

Brosius won three world championships with the Yankees(1998,1999,2000). In his sixth year as head coach at Linfield he led his Wildcats to the school's first ever national title.

Ed Flaherty's University of Southern Maine Huskies gave Linfield all it could handle in that title game. In fact, the only two losses USM suffered at the CWS were against Brosius' team.

USM pitcher Tyler Leavitt and outfielder Troy Thibodeau were named to the all-tourney team.
